Respectfully Decline

Why We Might Respectfully Decline To Take You On Board As A Full-Service Client

You probably reject up to 20% of LASIK applicants, because they are just not candidates for the procedure. You do that regretfully, and you probably offer them alternatives. You could accept them – and some centers do – but it’s really a matter of integrity.

We take a similar approach with our clients.

Here’s the first reason we sometimes have to say, “Sorry, but…”

Despite the fact that it has been bombarded continuously for the past two decades by every mass marketing technique known to Man, only 10% of the 120 million lens-wearing population have had LASIK.

This is a massive failure of traditional marketing techniques – for a very good reason: the consumers in this marketplace are contemplating eye surgery – not a new pair of running shoes.

  • While 10% of this marketplace can be expected to respond to a ‘Buy Now’ offer – the other 90% shake their heads and go back to their lenses.
  • This 90% care more about the doctor’s expertise and personality than they do about price.
  • When these consumers ‘shop around’ they spend years – not hours – searching the internet, studying news articles, trying to sort through the immense data overload in an effort to get their questions answered.

For example, one of the big questions is this: Which doctor can I really trust?

How can they get that question answered without actually meeting the doctor?

We have proven techniques for solving this and the other questions these prospective patients have, however a practice may or may not have the time or the resources to take advantage of them.

This is the first reason we might have to say, “Sorry, but…” Success in the refractive surgery sector depends on persistence and understanding to arrange and implement the necessary systems to penetrate and capture this market.
